Question:
Mag Citrate before tummy tuck?

I read on the message board that someone was to take Mag Citrate before a tummy tuck. Is this normal procedure, was this required by anyone else's surgeon for a tummy tuck. I have a tummy tuck/hernia repair scheduled for Jan 12, so wondering if this is something that I might have to do...Ick! Before RNY was bad enough, oh please not again. I didn't have to but I was also extremely constipated after this surgery (I was under anesthesia for 9.5 hours). We are talking PAIN! I don't know if it would've helped or not taking that stuff but if it does, do it!

I didn't have to have one for RNY or tummy tuck (2 different surgeons) It's all up to your doc, but you do have a right to refuse any treatment. I never had any problems after.

wendy it is up to the surgeon actually. I did NOT have to do it for my rny but i did for the tt. Your right it was nasty lol but i didn't have to drink all of it due to my system being so much smaller it cleared me out quickly lol
