Question:
I had lap RNY, Janurary 30th,2003...How many calories does my body absorbe.

Hi I had surgery Jan 27th 2003 I am not farsure how much we absorb that is a good question, but I try to get in now at least 1200-1500 cal a day!

Depends . . . on like how much you had bypassed, how much did your gut hypertrophy, how many calories go into your face. And how efficient your bod is. Bottom line? No one can tell, and no one knows!

Your body absorbs all the calories, it just doesn't absorb all the fat or vitamins/nutrients that you are taking in due to the bypassing of the intestines. But for counting calories, count all of them.

it is hard to so what your absorption level is, i honestly don't think anyone knows for sure. I know it varies depending on how much intestine is bypassed, the more intestine bypassed the more malabsorption. I persona;lly count ALL of my calories, I know what it takes to maintain and I do my best to stay there, and over a week I average out really well.
