Question:
Surgery Not Working ??

I am 6 weeks post-op and eating like a pig. I never seem to get filled up. I spoke to my doc and she said to use my "will power". I had this surger because I have none. I feel totally unsupported. I am afraid that I went through all that pain and expense for nothing. I inially lost 35# but had gain 2# back now. What am I doing wrong?? Please, please, please remember why you decided to have this surgery! These are the reasons that you need to list every time you feel hungry! Try to change at least one food related habit each week! You know, sitting in front of the TV when you eat, opening the fridge everytime you go into the kitchen, buying just one bag of cookies! If you work on changing the food habits the weight will come off. I tried to spend as much time as possible outside of my house in the beginning. I was one of those people who did not like to eat when other people were watching. I told all of my friends and family to call me if they wanted company on their errands. I let them know I needed to get out of the house. As soon as you start to take the focus off of what you can and can't eat you start to look at all of the things that you CAN DO since you have lost weight. If changing bad habits is too hard, don't be afraid to talk to a therapist! It's their job to help us to make changes to improve our lives. They may have suggestions that will work for you! Big jobs take more than ONE TOOL. The surgery is the most expensive tool! Good Luck and God Bless!

I read the other posts and they are SO emotionally supportive and I am SO hands-on practical. Hope you don't mind? Check the list and see that you are doing these things and then you can better determine if you have a mechanical failure OR lack of proper instructions failure. I only think it a REMOTE possiblity that you are "naughty". Are you: taking 60g of protein SUPPLEMENT a day (not mixed with or including milk)? Drinking 2 wts of water per day? Avoiding milk & sugar--completely? Not drinking with or soon after meals? Are you having distincg "meals", even if 2 hours apart? This is WAY better for your pouch, for your head, for your weight loss, for your lifestyle than grazing, which is to leave the crackers on the plate all day. If you're diong all these, and you're still stalling out, THEN go to your doc and ask for exams of your surgery to make sure everything is intact. And BTW, eating a whole sandwich in an hour is NOT pigging out, in case you're thinking that you a LOT now, compared to the first week.
