Dear Lori, It sounds like you are having a really hard time. If I were you I would take a very aggressive approach to maintaining or gaining weight, even if you have to get professional help. After all you've been through to get thin you don't want to lose your health and not be able to enjoy it. I know there is someone who can help but you have to make up your mind to find them. Try an eating disorders clinic or a nutritionist who specializes in bariatric patients. Best of luck to you, Lori Tan

Congradulations!!! I'm so proud of you. I looked at your profile also, and I can guestamate that you are about 5". This is how I am, so I may be faced with the same problem you are having. I am extreme. I'm either very very heavy, or very very small. I can't find a happy medium because I can't figure out where my boundaries are. Now if this is you, my suggestion is to gain the weight. Maybe not 25 pounds - you look very good at 105. But I'll be at under 100 you are looking anorexic. Been there - done that. We always tend to think more is better. But (if you haven't already gotten there, you will be soon) soon you will not beable to eat anything even if you try. Trust me you don't want to get to that point. Its just as unhealthy as being MO. Think about that 1 kidney. 25 pounds is not worth dying for. Try an extra protein shake or maybe just 1/2 of one. Keep me posted.

Lori, there is a yahoo group called OSSGunderweight I think; sorry I can't check the exact name because the yahoo server is down right now. I think you'd get a lot of help there. Good luck.

First you look great! But to gain some weight break the rules. Sip liquids with meals so your food is washed thru your pouch. Get your stoma dilated as big as possible so you can eat more. Eat more meals a day, extra meals equal extra calories. My nutronist told me of a bypass patient who out ate her rny. This lady was a dumper but SIPPED dairy queen all day long and regained the weight. Now I am not suggesting you do this, but its the general idea of how to defeat the surgery.

You never say what surgery you had... if you had RNY, it can be undone so you have a "normal" system again. You can always do that and just remember that you have to be very very careful for the rest of your life.
