Question:
Anyone been approved with UHC EPO???

I have UnitedHealth Care EPO through Dell of Nashville. I contact them about having surgery, they only required that it be medically nessessary. Even though I'm going through the process of determining that it is nessassary (BMI 46.5 weight 288)...I'm still worried that I'm get denied... Anyone worked with them? What else can I do besides working with my PCP to get this going?    — Renee B. (posted on January 12, 2003)

I have UHC EPO and was approved. It just took about 2 months though. I called them alot to make sure they had everything.

I have UHC (select EPO) and after the paper work was sent out on 12-23-02 I was call by NeWeigh(the clinic I'm going through) saying that I was approved on 01-06-03 which is exactly 2wks. which seem pretty good considering two holidays occur within those 2weeks. *now just waiting on a surgery date!!! UHC seems to be one of the easiest ones to deal with unless there is an exclusion from your employer on the particular policy that they choice and even with that I have read on this site where people have gotten around the exclusion having UHC. My surgeon submitted my letter on Dec. 9....was approved Dec.16...had surgery on Dec. 23! Dont worry...UHC epo has been very very good ! Good luck and God Bless! oh..by the way...have lost 25 pounds in 3 weeks!
