Question:
How to prevent this from happening.

no one wants to have to wait endlessly as many of us do. it depends on your insurnace and how swift they are at the surgeons office pushing the paperwork. hang in there!

If your concern in staple rupture (am I correct?), you may want to re-phrase your question and include that in the body of your post. I'm pre-op too, and that is also a MAJOR concern of mine. Just trying to help. :-)

Select a surgeon who will transect your stomach (cut apart) vs just stapling. Then no SLD can occur.
