Question:
I have gained an additional 30 pounds since summer break began.

I plan to have surgery in October. I really do not want to buy any new clothes to start school since I have gained 30 more lbs. Can anyone help me? I'm currently in a size 30/32 or 4x. I'm willing to pay postage and return or send to someone else that needs them. Or give me other good ideas to keep costs down. Thanks everyone for being to kind and helpflul on this site. Hi Janie. Is there a decent thrift store in your area? That has saved me. Since my surgery, I have gone down several sizes, and if it wasn't for the thrift stores, I would be in sorry shape (money wise). :) Good luck!!

I wish I had clothes to fit you, but mine only go up to a 26. I had the exact same problem, that I had gone up 30lbs. when I knew I was going to have surgery. I basically broke down and just bought two new pairs of jeans and forced myself to wear all my old shirts which were just a bit tight. I was too mad at myself to get new clothes. Anyway, two pairs of jeans didn't work out too bad for me since it was only a few months until surgery.

go to your local support group meetings let everyone there know your problem we all take our old cloths to our meetings and I am sure people have very nice things hanging in their closet just waiting for someone who would appreciate them to come along.. I had lots of clothes from Macy's I wanted someone who whould appreciate and know what quality these clothes where I did find someone who worked in the public eye and needed to be dressed nicely good luck Kathy

Ebay.com saved me from running naked through the streets. Go to the Plus Sizes under Women's Clothing and search for your size. Check the Seller's feedback before bidding. I have replaced my wardrobe several times as I travelled from size 24/26 to my current 12, and in only 8 months! So don't spend a lot but you can find great deals on Ebay as well as thrift stores and clothing Exchange. Best wishes! CJ

Have you checked the clothing exchange on this site? I have not checked it so I dont know what they have, but it might help. Good Luck! I wish I had stuff to send you too.

I can never find the clothing exchange on this site. Could it be listed in the menu bar at the top of the page?
