Question:
Will I be able to have sex again?
My joints became so stiff with my weight that we haven't had "normal" sex in 5 yrs. Has anyone else had this problem and was it corrected after weight loss? I really want to be able to be intimate with my husband again. — upmom (posted on June 15, 2003)

Hi, I had ostio arthritus before surgery... and I am down 147 pounds.. and
my joint pain is completely gone. Me and my husband can now be very
intimate. My liobido has increased. No problems in this department at
all... and according to our local support group group about 50/50 some were
increased lobido and some decreased...

after loosing 70 some pounds i actually was able to 'get on top' it was so
amazing to me, i was astounded! so i'd say yes, if i can do it (literally
;o) then so will you, even if its not like when you were 20 years old it
will still be better!

Sex has changed a lot for me since my surgery in jan 2002. I find that I
can 'last longer' and not get so uncomfortable when on the bottom. I also
find that I can get into positions that I never could manage before. Also I
tend to be more sensitive in certain areas and find it easier to get to the
'fun part', if you know what I mean. *wink*
Trust me. Your sex life will improve and you'll soon feel like a teenager
again - and can't get enough of it

Lu - Everything will get better! Any activity that involves being physical,
whether it's walking, carrying groceries, or, yes, even sex becomes better
and better as the weight comes off. Best of luck and I hope you enjoy your
