Hair and nails in the Hospital

Have ya'll heard anything about not being able to get you hair done befotre surgery.  I am really wanting to get some micro braids befotre surgery  so want look a TOTAL HOT MESS , and I was told not too.  Any one please advise. 

No one said anything to me about hair or nails.I know sometimes the acrylic nails can be a problem for the anesthesiologist. I wish I could help you.

My pre-op info  said to go ahead and wash your hair that morning and NO nailpolish.  I would think having braids would be ok but I would call your doc just to make sure.  :-)

Definitely check with your doctor.

I had this question. They told me that I could have my nails and toes painted but I'm going with a french manicure rather than color.  I don't use acrylic but I've read lots of places that say they want the acrylics removed.

The told me I could do it and no problem.

For after surgery, I was told that I could put on make up immediately.  I was also told i could wear makeup into surgery but I'm not going to do that.  I want them to know if my color looks off.  No need and not giving them every opportunity to catch any signs of a complication.

I was told no finger or toe nail polish and no acrylics either.
As far as hair, I can wa**** in the morning, but no products.

Nobody said anything about dyes, perms, or braids.

Seems everyone was told something different so the best advice would be to just call them and ask.

Did you call the sugeon yet. I was told not to have on any make up, jewlry or products. I did gel my hair up and made a bun then threw on a curly ponytail and just removed it before I went in!

Hello your micros would be fine. I am having surgery 11/13/2008 and I am getting my hair braided as well.
