Insurance trouble help!!!!!

Has anyone had the lap band surgery approved by Aetna? Just got the letter that denied that they would pay for the lab band surgery because it has been either "inadequately studied" or "unsafe". Looking for some guidance on my path forward with the Insurance Company.

Did you say would or wont? pay for the lap band? I have Aetna and they approved mine. i had it done onMay 13th, this year. It took awhile and I jumped through many hoops to get approval , but they said lap band was the ONLY one they would approve. E-mail me and let's talk. [email protected] Debbie

I'm dealing with Aetna right now. Why do they do this. I don't know how many people I've talked to that Aetna has done this to. They won't approve me because I don't have 6 months documented diet. I'm a 400 lb woman w/BMI of 60.8, what more do they want?
