Those two medications alone are not adequate treatment for H. pylori infection - usually it is at least a 3 drug regimen to get rid of this bacteria: One of the most common combos is clarithromycin-omeprazole-AMOXICILLIN.

Actually, there is a dual therapy for H. pylori treatment of just clarithromcin and omeprazole.
It might be easiest just to call your doctor's office and verify the reason you are on these drugs.
(quick edit: decreasing the usual or higher than normal acidity in your stomach makes it easier to get rid of the bacteria, I think, and helps ulcers heal, if you have any.)
