Hi to my OH Family!
Hello guys and gals!!
I haven't posted in a while. I'm 16 months out and so GLAD I had to courage to do this. It's great to see a lot of new folks on the board.
It was very hard for me to appreciate how normal I eventually would feel when I was just out of surgery. Honestly, I felt super after about 8 weeks, and completely normal at 6 months. Not that I didn't have restriction, just that everything was working like it was before, only smaller.
This is a good and bad thing, so I also want to caution you to really take advantage of the time after surgery to deal with the head part of this obesity thing. You will be hungry again. You will be able to eat more than you can imagine you could if you're only a few months out. Nothing is really going on except that we get a reprieve from the tyranny of food, but it's temporary. We are losing weight because we aren't eating as much. But it will never be as easy, so take advantage of those first 6-9 months, don't push too much food, don't try to progress too fast through the stages, and (this is just my own advice - YMMV) don't eat more than it takes to keep you satisfied.
I am going to try to be more present - I need to for myself! Cheers to all!
It is such a pleasure to have you back. I think we need your sound advice and this has been a strange evening for posts. Many of the VETS are rebelling against the laxity of many of the diets we see. Your common sense approach and calm demeanor are needed. It might just mellow us down a bit. :) Plus, I just missed you.
Wonderful to see you back, Happy! You look GREAT! It is always wonderful to see you on here, as you have always been so kind and supportive. So glad to hear you're living the life you deserve :)
