What the heck did you say?
That is about what I said to the surgical scheduler today when she called me this afternoon to ask me if I wanted surgery next Tuesday? My original date was July 16 and she was able to get me in for a week earlier on July 9th.....so here I am looking ay my calendar thinking...WHen is my last big meal and what will it be? She called and said she had a cancellation for next week June 25! I was flabbergasted...and said WTF! So know I am going to Walmart to stock up for my preop diet.....I am on cloud 9.....but feel bad that someone got an insurance denial and had to be cancelled.....my friend who had the RNY 3 yes ago said to embrace this opportunity.....so I am off w my NUT notes in hand...(excuse spelling errors..auto correct on iPad)
my surgery got bumped up 20 days, I was originally scheduled for the day after Christmas--the surgeon actually called me and said MERRY CHRISTMAS, we're going early...so start your pre-op diet ON THANKSGIVING!
Best of luck...
Congratulations, Kathy.
This is wonderful news. I remember how hard it was to wait those last few weeks, anticipating the surgery.
By the way, I got your "friend" message and I couldn't respond. I'm not sure if its my account or my browser, but the edit screens on many actions is grayed out, so I cannot enter text. Please consider me a "friend" and when I figure out what is wrong with my system, I'll make it official!
Again, congratulations on your surgery date. I hope your surgery goes well, and that we will be sharing success stories from the loser's bench very soon.

That is great! I was denied back in November and was devastated. Then I got the approval in April and when I called my surgeon's office they said I had to start my 2 week diet the next day. No food funerals for me! I just jumped in with both feet. I didn't even have enough time to get nervous! Yay for you!!!!
Great news! In regards to your 'last meal'... I had been saying the past year that I would be going to Olive Garden to have a very small amount of chicken alfredo and some berry sangria on June 13th, my one year anniversary. Didn't end up doing it - it's not worth it, and I still have work to do! The sangria will be there 60 pounds from now. :) Instead I took my kiddos to Six Flags and did lots of walking.
