Absolutely, yes. I've experienced it and it's not fun. We can also become lactose intolerant, so watch out for that.

Sleevers can dump (I dump), but what you experienced would not be considered dumping...in my opinion. Dumping can happen when a large amount of sugar or fat go straight into your intestines. It makes you extremely sick to your stomach, you get hot or cold or both, then things want to come out both ends. For me anyway, it makes me quite sick for at least an hour, and I'll have the diarrhea for hours after. (Anyone with more specific info on dumping jump in here...I'm just going by my experience.)
Some people, while they're on liquids after surgery, get diarrhea. Others get very constipated. You seem to be the former! I'd take the advice above and just take things in a little slower. That will give your body more time to absorb the liquids before they have the chance to run right through you. You might even want to call your doctor and let them know what happened. They may want to put you on purees earlier or something like that, or have you take some OTC med to help with the problem.
Best of luck....been there, done that!

I don't think you could call that dumping - I think you call that a reaction to something you ate. Check your protein drink's nutrition label - does it have sugar alcohols listed on it, or any ingredient ending in 'ol', such as Xylitol, Manitol, Sorbitol? Did you eat anything "sugar free" today with those ingredients, like a sugar free candy, gum, etc.? If so, I would dump it. I ate a "protein bar" at work once (because I didn't plan well, and that's another story) with sugar alcohols in it and had diarrhea for days!
Also...diarrhea is a sign of constipation too, believe it or not. So keep an eye on it - if you don't have a bowel movement in several days be proactive with Miralax or the laxative/stool softener of your choice. About 3 weeks out I almost went to the ER with the worst constipation known to man, which could so easily have been fixed!
One of the first questions I would ask your surgeon when you see him next is "what is the capacity of my new stomach?" I did and was told about 6 OZs and could stretch to 8. I know totally clear thin liquid leaves the stomach quickly, but I think 15 OZs in that short of time is way too much and too fast.
I have also been told to follow the 30/30 plan, meaning stop drinking 30 minutes before you are going to eat and don't drink anything for 30 minutes after you eat. Both the broth and protein shake would be considered eating when you look at my post op diet. I've been told that for the first 2 weeks post op the idea is to stay hydrated but we also want to keep the stomach empties as much as possible to allow for better faster healing.
