Please think twice before RNY
Dawn,
I'm very sorry that this has happened to you and I wish you luck with this radical surgery! Are these ulcers a new occurrence or have you had issues for the whole 8 years?
I am 7+ years out and have been extremely fortunate to not have had any physiological issues with my surgery - other than the problems associated with vitamin and mineral absorption that many of us are plagued with long term.
I think it's a good thing for pre-oper's to know the good, the bad and the ugly of WLS before they make any decisions. Is there anything you would advise newbies (and us vets!) to do or not do such that they could avoid finding themselves in your situation in the future?
