2 years surgiversary!
Two years ago today, I missed Easter with my three small kids and flew to the west coast of Mexico to get a DS with Ungson. I weighed 286 after dieting and exercising down from 370. I reached goal weight of 150s after a year.
My life is the same yet so different at the same time. I still have an amazing marriage with a man who thinks I'm sexy and beautiful, I did get my dream job since, and I still have great kids but I can play, run, take care of them 100x more. I'm able to work, play, clean, volunteer, and still be happy and healthy.
There are no ds surgeons in Fl. I knew what I was getting myself into. I tell my pcp what labs to run, I keep track of my labs in Andrea U's labtracket book. I also see a hemotalogists as extra. I do my own research on vitamins and adjust to my labs. I KNEW I need malabsorption and I just really wanted to keep my stomach functioning. It took me 3 years of figuring out how to self pay for it. As much as its a pain to handle it all myself. I wouldn't trade it for ANYTHING.
I loved looking at updates so I hope someone is looking at this and feels a little bit better about their upcoming surgery! :)

Emily!!!
So very proud of you my dear friend! How frightening and scary that must have been. Your commitment and bravery is a beacon to many that success can be achieved when one rises against the odds and faces their fears head on. Not many could do what you did Emily. So very proud of you! xoxo
Best,
Chris
