If you are considering surgery - do it!

From about the age of 25 to 56, I battled with weight. In my late 20s when my children were young, I was fit and active. By the time they were teenagers,  I sat and watched as they played games, hiked with their father etc.  I missed out on so much.

Now, aged 63, I have just come back from the beach. I wore a wet suit (only idiots swim in the Welsh sea in May without them), I played a long game of tag chase with my grandchildren, I played football, I had running races with my grandson. He's only 6 1/2 but over short distances, boys go quite a speed; I couldn't overtake him but I kept up! I scrambled over cliffs, I ran fast to rescue our ball as it blew towards the sea.

I make no effort to tell people which surgery! And things can go wrong with any surgery. None are risk free! But life post-weight loss is good!

Highest 290, Banded - 248   Lowest 139 (too thin!). Comfort zone 155-165.

Happily banded since May 2006.  Regain of 28lbs 2013-14.  ALL GONE!

But some has returned! Up to 175, argh! Off we go again,

Ditto~~ WLS is an awesome life changer. It has been worth all the new habits and even all the liquid diet phases...

Sounds like a great time. I too have a new lease on life due to my decision to have surgery. There are risks in everything we do in life.

Yep. I say all the time my only regret is not doing it sooner.

Just 10 short months ago, I was a slave to my body. I was so uncomfortable all the time. Now, when I go hiking, I'M the one in front way ahead of everyone (even on the steep hills!) and I'm not out of breath dying! It's amazing what all that extra weights does to us!

Even a mere 11 weeks out from surgery, I'm having similar feelings.  I LOVE my life post-op.  I want to do everything.  And I can!

I don't know your story but assume you were one of those who had problems. Sorry if that is the case. We all go into this hopng to be trouble free but there are always some unlucky people for whom this is not the case.
