So I finally had my surgery....just in alot of pain....today I get to start my liquids and get out of this bed and start walking around

Your journey has started. Walk as much as you today because that is the best way to get rid of the gas which causes the majority of the pain. And if not walking,you'd best be sipping!

Oh,and where did you have your surgery Done?. I am from the Alton area (Brighton) and had surgery at Depaul with Dr Morales.

I had mine at Washington university at Barnes....my doctor was Christopher Eagon

Congrats! It's all going to get better quickly. I noticed a difference every time I walked. As far a sipping, I wasn't allowed until after my leak test the next day so only sip if your surgeon allows you to.
