Living in Fear of Wt gain.

OK, I have lost 185 pounds and I am 22 months Post DS.  I have purchased 3 pairs of jeans size 12.

I hide the reciepts and my hubby says WTH, well I try them on everyday just waitng for them to not fit and have to take them back.  I am terrified of regain.

I want so badly to hit onderland.  I am currently on steriods for back and that makes you hold water and eat.  Celexa stopped my wt loss several months ago but I maintain no matter what in a 10 pound range.

I need to loose 32 to hit onderland.  As soon as the steriods ends next week I will low carb severely to see if I can get it moving again.  I am happy were I am at to a point but I am woman, will I really ever be happy.

How do I let this fear go?  I have lived my life with so many disappointments in regain that now I am waisting my joy on frear of regain.  I know I am not the only person to go thru this.  But I have never in my memory wore a size 12 in anything let alone jeans lol.

When I hit onderland good lord, wonder what size I will were then?

Carla,

I had a post similar to this a few months back.  I had this overwhelming fear of weight gain.  And it still lingers in the back of my mind, but not nearly like it did before.  I have seen so many people on these boards that are long-term and have had such great success, that I feel like if
I am accountable to myself, I will have that long-term success, and so will you.  We just need
to focus on what is important, like the protein and vites, and I think the rest will fall into place.
Good luck getting to onederland!

Thanks for your support Sarah. It is so much easier sad than done.  I am still shocked when I catch a view of myself in a window lol.

Find me a woman who doesn't live in some kind of fear of gaining weight....  There are very few.

Worry less and concentrate on taking control of the situation.  Don't be a victim, take charge.  Instead of worrying, work out.  Do what you can do.  Instead of worrying, plan good meals and good food options to have in the house.  Use all this concern for good.  If your meds are causing problems, look into different meds and talk to your doc about changing.

I have finally reached the end of the line and will be coming off Celexa and the steriods end next Wedsday.  I am 8 wks post-op severe hernia repair, panniculectomy/anchor cut TT.

I am so ready to excercise and take back my life and restart my wt loss.  Due to my heart issues I have to wait to have my Thigh lift but I want to loose 32-42 more pounds to I am gonna shoot for that.

I am totally anal about my vits, water and protein so that is always in check.  I avoid brd, potatoes, basically the 5 whites but I am human and I do have some occasionally when I get up the nerve to deal with the bloating, gas and the runs lol.

Carla,

I know how you feel but coming from 455 it is scary to even think about being that big again. I am so happy right now I don't know what to do!!! I have on my six 16 slacks that were only 10 dollars and can't wait to get some more and I am weighing in at 262 today makes me want to jump and shout!!!. Anyway don't stress yourself out you will make it and you will get to onderland one day. My goal is to get down to 200 I beleive I will be ok at that weight. Anyway keep your head up and I will be looking for that update soon.

You and I are in the same boat together.  I want to loose the same amount you do.  I actually get so tired when shopping that I have to cut it short go home and take a nap.

Its funny cause when you are 412 pounds, you will find a shirt that fits loose and long then buy one in every color.  I never in my life tried on more than 1-2 outfits on a shopping trip when I weighed 412.

I too am so freakin happy.  I am flying into Ohio next Tuesday and they all have just seen me 3 months ago to bury my father-in-law.  I had emergency surgery for this huge ventral hernia when I returned back to Florida.  So now I am 30+ pounds smaller with a flat tummy to boot for them to see me again.  They will be shocked again lol.

Hey woman PM me and tell how you are really doing with the low carb and losng.  I have been following your struggles with mine.

We are gonna do it.  I have more dreams in me than I have ever had in my life.

Out of curiosity, why can't you low-carb right now? I've never taken steroids so I don't know how it works, but are you required to eat carbs while on them? I have a friend who takes steroids for her Crohn's disease and I know she said that the steroids make her ravenous, but she didn't mention that she can't low-carb it while taking them.
