Is the Fobi Pouch GB the same things as RYN?

Hello -- I don't know which forum to read as I hope to have a Lap RYN and don't see such a forum. Is the Fobi Pouch GB forum the correct forum for my quest to learn more about RYN advantages and disavantages? Thank you in advance for any information you may be able to share. Take care, Lance

Lance, The Fobi pouch is a modified RNY. If you want to know about RNY specifically you could probably just go to the message board for your state and find a heap of people who have had lap RNY's. There is also a lot of information about RNY in the "surgery types" section which is easily navigated from the home page. Good luck!

I think, in this case, 'modified' means instead of just stapling a portion of your stomach off, they completely remove a portion of it. Check the Fobi website for more info about this. I wanted to have the fobi surgery but my ins. would only cover VBG. Good Luck, Tammy
