Hi everyone..

It has been a while since my last post, but I had to find the time to sit down and write this...

I started this amazing journey at 313lbs back in August of 2014.  After what seemed to be a very, very long wait, I had my surgery in March 2016 with Dr. Huyhn at HRRH.Things didn't go exactly as planned, but all worked out in the end.

Now here I sit, 7 months later enjoying the view of Onderland.  This is one journey that I am very proud of taking, and to all of the fellow members out there who are just starting their journeys, you can do this too.

Referral - September/14, Orientation HRRH - December 1/14, Surgeon appt. (Dr. Starr) - April 24/15, Trio appts. - July 21/15, Dr. Glazer - August 17/15, switched surgeon to Dr. Huynh Feb. 17/16, Surgery date - March 2/16-

1 year follow up - Lost 82% of my excess body fat. Starting weight 315lbs, today 151lbs.

Hi Akatiti,

Dr Hyunh is absolutely amazing. I had some internal bleeding and had to be taken back in the following day and had 2 drains put in for 4 days. It was nothing he did or didn't do, just a risk of surgery. All is great now.  The hospital is amazing and the nurses very caring.  Best advice is to get up and walk as soon as possible.  Drink all your water and just follow your plan.  The gas pain is the worse, and never trust a fart..   This can lead to a disaster.  You're gonna rock this.  Enjoy the ride and connect with your supports.  Here's to the beginning of an amazing journey.

If you ever have any questions please don't hesitate to ask.

Hi,

What is the best way to get rid of that gas pain?

For me walking was the best way to get it moving.
