OK what am I doing wrong?
I admit I took a good time yesterday and played too long and got myself all swollen and in pain.
When I got this morning at 6:30 AM all swelling was gone. Ok, I went and helped my husband do laundry on the beach. I did not pull or push anything. All I did was stood and folded clothes. Hubby did all the lifting etc.
We took clothes home and then left for brunch. I ate all protein which is what I am supposed to do. am home now, it is 11:27AM and I am swollen from my incision just over the mons all the way to brst bone horribly and the pressure is little painful, achy and annoying.
Hubby says I am doing too much moving around too early. So I am back in recliner drinking lots of fluids, feet up and Hubby says I am staying there for the day.
Is this normal? I dont have a seroma and my incisions look awesome. What am I doing wrong. Sorry guys I am little frustrated cause for the past two days I have felt human again.

"People spend a lifetime searching for happiness; looking for peace. They chase idle dreams, addictions, religions, even other people, hoping to fill the emptiness that plagues them. The irony is the only place they ever needed to search was within." - Ramona L. Anderson
Thanks I hope so too.
Gosh I hope you guys don't get hit too hard from Hurricane Irene. Everyone kept calling me the past few days to see if I was OK. Well I live on Fort Myers Beach here in Florida and we had nothing but some nice easy breezy days and I think thats why I have been up and wanting to go go go lol.
The only thing I have done different in past two days is I have been on the go having a great time. I don't like this swelling lol.

Thanks Joanne
You look great BTW. I am sitting here on computer in the recliner with my feet up drinking decaff ice tea lol. Some of the swelling has gone down and I am putting my ice bag back on too.
I did stand and walk alot yesterday and this AM so I will just rest today. I had to take some percocet due to the pressure of the swelling. I good now.

How far post plastics are you now? I know even at the seven week mark about mid-day, close to evening I am swollen and look about four months pregnant. I am back to all daily activities and am afraid the swelling is just gonna be around a few more months.
Just listen to your body. We've just put them threw so much. Take it easy and do just what you've been doing...when you swell up sit down, put the feet up and relax. There's always good and bad days post op. Keeping looking ahead, you'll be back to you in no time!

I am taking it easy. Geesh I hate this swelling thing. I quess since I never had much till this week, I thought I was gonna be one those that never had that problem lol.
I am 4.5 weeks post severe ventral hernia and abd muscle repair with panniculectomy/anchor cut TT.
I am so happy to be feeling more like myself that I just want to get back to normal.

I am 3 months post fleur de lis TT and arm lift. I did have an open wound complication, but at 3 months I'm not back to normal. I can go with hubby to get groceries and help put them away and then I'm done for the day. I only work 3 days a week (desk job) and when I come home - I'm pooped.
I'm getting from 100-130 gm protein a day, eating fresh, unprocessed foods, getting all vitamins & supplements, getting 8 hours sleep, getting 100+ oz water a day. I'm at goal weight. I'm taking care of myself.
Very slow getting back to "normal." I can only be on my feet for about 30 minutes walking and then have to rest. Belly is tight, achy, some swelling - not pain, but still uncomfortable.
I'm older, so I'm going slow. If my body says REST, then I listen to it. Even take a nap now and again.
This plastic surgery has taken the "air" out of me.
