360° surgeons in America and Mexico suggestions

I’m 10 years out from my VSG and it’s time to hack off the skin! I need suggestions on Good Surgeons in USA and Mexico. Financing suggestions or ways to get insurance to pay would be great as well. Thanks I’m advance!

the two names of surgeons in Mexico that have come up time and time again are Francisco Saucedo in Monterrey and Laura Carmina Cardenas in Tijuana.

as for US, there are a few - where do you live?

as far as insurance goes, some policies won't cover it at all, some will cover at least parts of it if it's causing some sort of medical issue, like chronic rashes, that won't respond to conventional treatments. So if you have anything like that, see your doctor so that you'll have documentation to submit to your insurance company if/when you decide to go ahead with plastic surgery. A lot of us were self-pay - some people used savings, some took out a home equity loan, and at least one person I remember borrowed from her 401(k).

I'm in Illinois. I was going to use the surgeon here local. He has been highly recommended but my friend just had her tummy tuck and he clearly did a botched job on her left side (his work not from her healing) and he said he would fix it but she had to pay for all the extras AGAIN like anesthesia and room etc. . So he is off my list. I know I'll probably have to pay out of pocket but I guess am looking for my "miracle" so I won't have to. Currently have Covid (I am vaccinated) and worry about surgery in Mexico and recovery. I'd hate to deal with recuperating and Covid because it is miserable. But at the same time the price difference is astronomical! How long would I be in Mexico? Would it be safe to travel after surgery to come back home? ??sorry my one question turned into my Covid thoughts! I am board out of my mind and have to much time to think while quarantined.

I had mine done in Chicago by Lawrence Zachary - he's very good but pretty pricey. I also had a consult with Dave Shifrin in Chicago. He's also well-known and very good (like Zachary), but also pricey. Daniel Krochmal (also had a consult with him - he is - or at least was at the time - in one of the northern suburbs) was cheaper, but not as well known and not as many years experience as the other two. I liked him too, though. There are a few others in Chicago who at least made my original list - but I only did those three consults plus an email consult with Dr. Saucedo in Mexico (and yes - he was about a third of the price). I don't know what to tell you about the COVID factor. That wasn't an issue when I had my plastic surgeries - but yes, I can see why that might be an issue now. I think the people who have it done in Mexico typically stay for a week or two. I think Dr. Saucedo's "package" may have included at least a couple of nights in a hotel.

if you are in southern Illinois, I'm sure there are a few good surgeons in St. Louis, too...but I don't know any names since I didn't want to go that far from home (I'm in southern Wisconsin). Check the site realself.com -- I used that - plus asking here on OH - to come up with my original list. I think realself has patient reviews of all kinds of doctors, but most of the ones on there are plastic surgeons.

Check with a bariatric surgeon to get a recommendation for a plastic surgeon who works with weight loss patients. Plastic surgeons charge a non-refundable consultation fee, normally between $75 and $250. That will normally include pictures. They will examine your skin and make recommendations. They will advise you about insurance and about payment plans that they work with. This is not mine, but from a book. "Weight loss surgery was the best thing I ever did for my health. That is true! My life after my surgery changed! I became who I always was but always hid. Now the weight is off and I need to skin gone so I can live fully and without constant worry about my skin pooch showing if my shirt flies u*****t dying of heat exhaustion because I'm wearing a flippin jacket when it's 102° outside to hide my arm flaps. Not being able to wear shorts or a swim suit...I need it gone. Thank you for your replies?.

I highly recommend Dr. Sauceda in Monterey , Mexico .

He has his own American style very sterile and modern mini-hospital and great nurses who help change bandages , bathe you and visit you every day in your hotel room.

Hes a true artist - a very talented sculptor with living , moving tissue and I cant think of a single unhappy patient all these years .

For me he did an arm lift with lipo ( which looks great and almost scarless to this day ) a 360 lower body lift w bellybutton repositioning and lipo ( again w very little scarring ), a Brazilian butt lift using my love handles ( which area also got lipo) a mini Tummy Tuck w lipo and a thigh lift .

EVERYTHING came out seriously perfect !

Unfortunately Dr. Saucedas booked up till next fall grrr.. but hes absolutely worth waiting for.
