Hi all,

I got sick lat night.  My stomach started hurting really bad.  I'm thinking it make be gas.  I took gas-x strips to ease that pain.  It felt like a knot in my stomach.  It eased off when I belched but the pain is still lingering.  I went to Winn Dixie and as the pharmacist about it and she  asked if I still had my gall bladder I told her yes and I told her yes.  She said it sound like that may be what it is.  Will that pain just start all of a sudden?  If it was gall bladder will it ease from me taking gas-x and burping?
HELP!!!!!!

 Kim,
you left me with several questions..I had a different surgery many years ago,,and I have problems from each aspect of the surgery I had.
I'll address a couple of things that might or might not help...depending on your answer....
Did you take any medications, or eat anything in the previous  one hour before you went to bed.?...If you did ,...I have had similar response with my pouch, I find that when I take meds / suppliments late, then  I need to sit up for a bit and drinking something warm..helps them to move down more quickly...resulting in less distress. If I have an issue with a particular food, I find that this helps it move on down as opposed to  coming out...
Do you  tolerate milk products?   Did you get hidden milk in anything   in the previous 2 days...? are you tolerant to fruit?   ..banana's give me gas, but it is sometimes 24-36 hours before I notice my symptoms.
Gall bladder history? Have you had a prior attack? Did you eat something with more fat than you usually eat?   anything that releases pressure on that  portion of your intestine could give you a measure of relief...., so yes  anti-gas products can give some relief...
Do you take any suppliments to assist your liver with detox.?.. even liver specialists sometimes recommend the active ingredients in Liver-vite... those can help with ridding your system of the extra fats..
I would urge you to get your gall bladder checked out if you continue to have distress...especially if you can't trace it to something.. you know you ate/did.  Don't wait too  long. Gall bladders can burst, and it ain't pretty.I didn't have this problem since mine was  removed with one massive surgery...

Before I had my gallbladder removed, fats made me sick  and I would vomit. The pain was under my right rib bones fairly close to my boob. I would hurt for hours.  Thats all I know..

Yep, when my gallbladder developed a stone, about 20 minutes after I ate--every time I ate--I would develop a pain just to the right of my sternum. It felt like someone was shoving a spear through me. When they did the ultrasound, even I could see the problem...I had one gallstone--but it was the size of a golf ball! Literally--they gave it to me in a little jar after they removed my gallbladder.

Burping won't help if it's the gallbladder. Neither will gas remedies.
