Mmmm.. Iron.

I'm 14 months out and right at 200 lbs down from my starting weight - yay! But my two last sets of labs show low iron, really low iron. So I've started literally eating the little tablets throughout the day. I eat an 18 in the morning, a 30 around lunchtime and an 18 or a 30 in the evening before bed.

How much iron am I supposed to be ingesting daily? Anyone know? I'm using the Bariatric Advantage iron tablets and don't take them anywhere near my calcium.

The ASMBS says menstruating women need 54-63 mg a day and everyone else needs 36 mg a day, if your levels are good.  If you level was really really low, 62 - 78 mg is probably not enough.
