6 months!
Well, 6 months ago today, I was under my doctor's watchful eye as he preformed the surgery that has changed my life. And how has the journey been since? I have to say, I truly believe I am one of the very lucky, very blessed ones.
I had no pain after surgery, not even gas pain.
I was able to introduce food back into my life on the schedule they gave me with very few problems.
I am able to tolerate food in small quantities and have not had any burning desires to eat foods that I know will disagree with me.I have the most fantastic support system, starting with my wonderful boyfriend. My family and friends have been unconditionally supportive. And I have the best support group ever!
I have lost fairly slow, only 52 pounds in the 6 months, with about 18-20 pounds left to lose. I have stayed fairly toned and am working on getting more so.
I am off blood pressure meds, off cholesterol mes and off all diabetes meds except for 10 units of Lantus.
I go in two weeks for my 6 month visit to the best surgeon ever and I am hoping and feeling like he will be happy with my progress so far.
and I have had this wonderful site to answer questions, and keep me focused and also allowed me to help others along their journey.
all in all, life is great!!

Congratulations on your weight loss. I had my surgery 5/16/11 & have lost slowly also. My surgeon & everyone says this is a good thing. I am almost 8 months postop & have lost 110.6 lbs. & want to lose at least 25 more. I had a couple of weeks of no exercise due to Bursitus in my hip. I have also had some stomach pain but got meds. for that and all seems well. This seems to be the best decision I have made for myself in a long time.
