Wound Care Update
So I went to the wound care doctor today to look at my incision. As you know from my previous post my surgeon said to keep it covered and it would heal eventually.
Today I was told that the wound is tunneling and is necrotic (meaning dead tissue), it is very deep. They did some mild debridement today, sent off cultures and started me on antibiotics. They packed the wound and I go back on Tuesday for further debridement.
If you are ever concerned that something doesn't look right, don't be scared to seek a second opinion. I could have had major issues if I left this untreated.

Glad to hear you are getting proper care now.

I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me!
I had that happen with my tummy tuck years ago. It's not fun and it took mine a full year to heal. If the doc would of paid attention to me when I brought it up I'm sure it wouldn't have gotten that bad. When it started with this surgery I immediately sought help and the surgeon actually listened to me.
Is it deep enough for a wound vac? they are cumbersome and a pain to sleep with but it really cleared things up for me.
good luck!
