Unbelievable
So it's 9.15 New Year's Eve here right now and my drain just slid out, pigtail on end wasn't secured at all and it lays flat not curved in.
rang surgeons after hours number. He's away AGAIN,spoke to moron on call surgeon who told me not to bother coming in tonight and if I go in ill be ignoring his advice and he's who they'll call.nice.
ffs I was being so careful.
Hey Scarlett....do you mean by "it lays flat" that the tubing was flat and not able to drain anyway? Did the moron tell you when you should be seen about this? Hopefully your own surgeon will be back in the office on Jan 2nd and will see you personally to attend to this!
I wish you all good things and successes in 2013! Nobody deserves it more than you

Hey Martha, it was flat as in could lay flat but not flattened, could definatly still drain, the bandaging had some dried marks on it which makes me think it was maybe moving and leaking under the clear bandages, unfortunately he's not bac****il the 7th I'm booked in for the 8th, in desperation iv sent a msg to my original surgeon because I trust him more than the local hospital and the on call at the other hospital.
fingers crossed
I feel soooooooooo sorry for you. You have been put through the wringer. I was reading the "problem" posts to see if there were pitfalls I could avoid. I did not expect all of the problem to come from one person.
I sure hope 2013 treats you a heck of a lot better than this past year and that your surgeon gets his stuff together and gets you WELL!!!!!!
Thanks Lynn,
im like a shrinking little walking nightmare- I'm at the point now where I've got to laugh at the absurdity of it all or I'm going to lose my mind!!
my surgeon WILL be getting his **** together otherwise I'm about to get very vocal!
How long has the drain been in? I had one come loose after being in a week and a half, and the surgeon said that when that happens they typically don't try to put a new drain tube in. I am sure that differs from surgeon to surgeon and from place to place, though. I can see how it would be difficult to put a drain back in, though. I didn't have any trouble when mine came out early.

You don't drown by falling in the water. You drown by staying there.
Hi lora, this one was only placed the day after Christmas, my main concern was that it was still draining and after the last one came out I did get sick again, fingers crossed for now the antibiotics are doing their job, it would be preferable if I didn't have to get another as its a two our trip there and my body doesn't appear to want to keep them in.... And I'm uncoordinated!
