I'm curious about how you'd stay under 500 a day and get 3 meals as well as 75 grams of protein? I can't seem to get in everything under 700 calories. The majority of my calories comes from protein drinks

By the way you had surgery day after me! I love finding people on the same timeline as me to talk to :)

I can guranteeeeee you I am not reaching my protein entirely.

I am also sick past few days too so I know that has something to do with it. But I am doing egg breakfast. And lunch just about 1-2 oz of deli meat or cottage cheese. And dinner is maybe a small piece of ham again.

What should be our calorie intake?

I have never actually been told a number of calories by a surgeon or nutritionist. I have asked people because I am very much a kind of person who needs to know set guidelines. I have been told a variety of things from 500-600 calories a day, to 750-1000 calories a day, to don't count calories, just get in your 75 grams of protein and make sure all foods come in under 5 grams of sugar per serving. I plan on asking my nutritionist at my next appt on the 16th.

I had my surgery on 12/13/12 and my surgeon told me not to worry about calories but protein and hydration.  My RD/NUT wants me to get at least 60 g of protein daily.  Surprisingly, I'm getting anywhere between 50 and 60.  The key is drinking two cups of milk daily and adding low-fat cheese to just about everything.  So for right now, don't worry about counting calories.  God luck and Godspeed.

I was on 12/17! I am gathering that I am doing a good job if I get 600ish calories daily. I've been feeling pretty well. I get my protein every day, I always do a protein shake for breakfast. Add cheese to everything.

I am only 1 week out so I am still on liquids.  A friend of mine that had the surgery said she supplements her protein by Greek yogurt,  She adds it to things like you would sour cream.  Dips, salad dressing, sandwich spread.  I'm sure she spices it up or something but I know it is very high in protein.  Not sure how high.  Just a thought.
