You can take any cold medicine that DOES NOT contain Ibuprofen or aspirin. Any acetaminophen based product is fine. Also Mucinex DM is fine for congestion.

You aren't supposed to take ibuprofen or aspirin for life after surgery. Something my surgeon told me was that since your pouch is so much smaller than your original stomach the ibuprofen and aspirin sitting in there can burn a hole in your pouch lining much quicker and easier.
