Protein Bars
Hi everyone hope your all doing well and enjoying your weekend. So everyone raves about protein bars. I have tried some different kinds Quest, Proti, Pure Protein, Atkins ect.. and the all make me sick to my stomach or have Diarrhea. Does this happen to anyone else? Guess they are not for me. I am 4 months out.
Do the ones you've tried have a lot of sugar alcohols in them?

I have never eaten one - it is wholly possible to lose weight and maintain using good, wholesome clean food! I certainly wouldn't be using them if they made me sick or gave me diarrhea.
They are a fairly recent phenomena and I suppose I don't get why they are exalted as some sort of miracle food - they are just processed pseudo candy bars with protein thrown in! It doesn't appear that they come in beef, chicken or pork flavour

All of the one you mentioned made me sick also - and I am 6 years out. The only one I liked (bit too much) was Power Crunch bars. I like them so much that I kept them in my BF house or would only buy one at a time.
IMO - protein bars are glorified candy bars. They are still heavily processed food. In most cases they are high in calories and can be used as emergency only type snack.
Now I use nuts (almonds and others) as my emergency-to go food. Or low sugars jerky.

They are good supplements if you find the right one with the right ingredients. But can be used as a crutch and become addictive! Lol!

To believe that you must hide all the parts of you that are broken, out of fear that someone else is incapable of loving what is less than perfect, is to believe that sunlight is incapable of entering a broken window and illuminating a dark room.”― Marc Hack

Have you tried eating just half? At 4 months, I ate half a day.

Sounds like you are really sensitive to SA's or sugars in them. I rarely eat a whole bar at a sitting... they are more like a little sweet snack to me... so 1 bar makes 3-4 hunks, I snack size Ziploc baggie the leftovers and LOL sometimes I have a mystery on my hands when I get a couple of different hunks in the same baggie ;)
I do have to say when something didn't work out at first I usually waited a few months and I did fine with it... my body despite what the Dr's list of OK'd foods were said not yet.
