Had my RNY on Monday...

They sent me home today and I feel amazingly good. With the exception of the one incision that held the drain in place, I have no pain whatsoever. My blood sugar was 185 when I was admitted and I just tested it at 80. My blood pressure medication has been cut in half.  I do have one new worry though. My surgeon said that the operation went fine but that my liver was really, really enlarged and didn't look all that great. He took a biopsy because he thinks its early cirrhosis. Naturally the word "Cirrhosis" is scaring me to death. He didn't seem too concerned about it, and basically said that it was all going to get better from here. I have to wait a while for my biopsy results. I'm so scared. I waited this long to have the surgery, had I just done it sooner I might not be experiencing this anxiety now.

good for you. I'm glad your feeling do well. I had mine Monday as well. how are you doing on getting in all tha****er?  I only managed 40z today.

I took too big of a gulp early on (I swear, I forgot I'd had the surgery) and that hurt a little. I'm doing alright. When I finish what's in front of me I'll be at 40, too!

that's great.  I got on my scale today and I gained 4lbs while at the hospital.  I guess it was the IV.  but showering today felt great, I'm so glad to be home.

I gained about 10. My hands and wrists swelled up so badly they had to cut the bracelet off me and get me a new one. Thanks, hydration!

oh man Im jeaslous you are all home. I too had mine on Monday but Im still in the hospital and not able to get liquids down...Im glad to hear it gets better. 

Congrats on feeling good so soon after RNY and welcome to the Losers Bench!! Hoping your biopsy results come back ok and that you are on the mend.

Phew, I thought I was the only one having problems with getting fluids down!  I had my RNY on Tuesday and overall feel good, but I feel like my little sips are too much at times...anyone else feel that way?  Got my first ounce of protein shake down, so that was good!!
