NSV = I Can Cross My Legs Today!

This is one dream I've been excited for since day 1.  Before surgery, I couldn't even cross my legs 'man-style', let alone get them close enough to drape one over the other.

But yesterday, a co-worker came in and sat down in my office and I pushed my desk chair back from the desk to get comfortable, and suddenly I looked down and noticed my legs were comfortably crossed!  I didn't even have to wrap the crossed foot around the desk to hold it there, and it didn't slip off my other leg... it was just comfortably dangling there, right over the other leg... real dainty like!  I was wearing a skirt and felt like a real, normal, average lady, sitting and listening to my co-workers story.

I about burst into tears right there and then.  Wow!

I Love love love that NSV!  Every time I do it, it makes me smile.  A lot of them have come and I may have forgotten, but not that one.  It will stay with me for a while.  It still brings warm fuzzies to me.

Congrats on the HUGE NSV (in my opinion)!!!

I remember this special day for me.

Keep track of them (maybe put a reminder yearly on your calendar). The vets say it gets harder and harder to stay motivated as time goes on.

I think by keeping track of stuff like this (and having yearly reminders) it may help us from falling back on bad habits because we get reminded to take a trip down memory lane to the "bad place" where we couldnt cross our legs and speed thru to the happy memories of we followed the plan and could cross our legs!!!

:)

Happiness really is those little things!

Congrats to you!

Keep working hard!

I have a list of NSVs posted on my frig. I started it with the first one and just kept adding to it. I see it every time I get food out of the frig!

I love this!  This was one of my favorite NSV's, and you just inspired me to a new one.  When I was younger, a (very slim, beautiful) woman I knew was able to cross her legs so tightly that she could wrap it back around again (i.e. left leg crossed over the right knee, then instead of leaving her top leg dangling, she'd tuck the foot back behind her calf so she was crossed again) it amazed me - but I've been able to cross my legs easily and comfortably for awhile now, so I just tried this, and low and behold, I can do the extra twist!  OMG, amazing I can sit like a skinny girl!!!  My weight loss has been slowing now that I'm getting close to goal, so I love, love, LOVE NSV's to keep me motivated.  Congrats to you!

Love it ! I've been noticing this for myself too .....I have this memory of one of my Aunties , she's gone now but she was a very beautiful and 'womanly ' woman . She looked like Patsy Cline ......She always wore high heels and smoked long thin cigarettes , when she sat she would slip off her high heels and rub her stockinged feet together then cross her legs and rub her foot up and down her calf , she absolutely facinated me as a child . Her heavy perfume mixed in with her cigarette smoke , and curled hair , lipstick and her elegantly crossed legs . I used to pretend to be like her ( back when I could cross my legs before ) a pen for a smoke ! Lipstick all over my face !! ...and so now , when I'm crossing my legs I feel like that little girl again , pretending ! I have a crazy urge to go and get in some tights and heels and really try out the whole image ! Lol ! Minus the smokes .....takes me all my concentration to focus on the people I am sitting with instead of checking myself out while sitting there!! 😂😂😂😂
