I bought and pureed various kinds of soups... try some of the good ones from the market, or go to a soup, salad and bread place (Panera) and get take home soup. Stick it in the blender, strain if it doesn't all get smooth. I loved butternut squash soup from Panera ! Also try different yogurts, sf puddings, and definitely log on to The world according to eggface. She has some great ideas.

This is the recipe for one of my favorite soups, might be very high in calories with the cream but work with it if you like a little bit of spice to your food.  I do add more thai paste.  I havent' had the surgery so not sure how people deal with spicy food afterwards.

Thai Red Curry Pumpkin Soup

2 T Butter
1 T Canola Oil
1 Onion diced
3 stalks of celery diced
3-4 cloves of garlic
2 T Thai Red Curry Paste
1 tsp thyme
6 C Veg Broth
3 C Pumpkin Puree
1/2 C Whipping Cream

In big pot, heat butter and oil.
Add Onion and celery
Saute for 5 mins
Add garlic, curry paste and thyme
Saute for 1 min
Stir in broth & Pumpkin
Bring to a boil then simmer 15-20 mins

Puree soup in blender
Reheat with whipping cream

Garnish with sour cream and/or fresh parsley
