Can we talk food and the time of day?

I've been noticing that I eat according to my work schedule and not according to my hunger.  In my work day I eat a breakfast around 10 a.m.  before that i have milk in coffee.  Then lunch is at 11:30.  I am not really hungry but I eat anyway.  Then I eat again around 2:30 or 4:00, then again before bed.

How important is the time you eat?  Can anyone share their times?
Thanks

I also eat according to my work schedule, which means first coffee is between 3 and 4 in the morning, and I have eaten breakfast by 5, then I have feedings typically every 3 hours after that.

Except, I am hungry.  But not SO hungry that I could go way overboard because I have the ravenousness, ya know?

I stop eating at 7 in the evening, because I go to bed at 9 and since I wake up so early, I like to make sure that nothing that *I can control* is going to interfere with my sleep (like waking up to a mouth full of acid if I have eaten too close to lying down. Has not happened because I do not eat for 2 hours, but no thanks!).

If I am starving marvin before bed, I will have some broth or hot drink of some sort.

I really hate "breakfast" time. Eating before 9am seems foreign to me so it's coffee/creamer before then I eat about 9-10, again around 1pm dinner is around 6-6:30pm and I usually gnaw on a "snack" around 4pm. I'm never hungry so I can't gauge my eating schedule off hunger. I have to have a "schedule" of some sort.

I typically stop eating at night by 7:30pm only because "night time" eating was a big fat habit for me pre-op so I had to nip that habit in the bud from the get go.

On weekdays during the loss period it was:

Breakfast - 6:30 ish
Lunch 1 - 10:00 or so
Lunch 2 - 2:00 or so
Dinner - 5:30 ish
Snack (generally smaller) - 7:30 ish

Now I try to work in another small snack as I up my calories and eat about every 3 hours. Sometimes life gets in the way of staying on schedule, though.

On weekends it gets a lot more fluid.

Highest weight: 335 lbs, BMI 50.9
Pre-op weight: 319 lbs, BMI 48.5
Current range: 140-144, BMI 21.3 - 22

175+ lbs lost, maintaining since February 2012

I'm so glad you asked this!   I'm scared of this very thing!  I work swing shift so my schedule changes weekly.  After I get my surgery, should I eat around my schedule? or should I eat at "normal" meal times?

I would eat when it's convenient for you and when you are hungry.

I wake up about 9-9:30 and eat a light breakfast (usually split something with my husband as neither of us eat much in the morning). Then lunch at noon, snack about 4 pm and/or 7 pm (right before and during work), then dinner when I get home about 10 pm. Usually go to bed around 1:30 am.

I do so much better on work days because my eating is done around my work schedule. It's so easy!
7:30 Protein coffee in the car
10:00 snack
11:45 Lunch
4:00ish snack
7:30 dinner

On the weekends I seem to forget to eat until I realize I haven't eaten. I'm so rarely ever hungry, I just get busy and forget to eat. It's not good, but boy it's such a cool change from the man I was pre VSG!
