Awesome NSV!
Such a killer NSV today. I've been back in ballet class for a couple months now. I loved it when I was in high school and I'm falling in love again (actually considering ditching my tv service so I can afford to go take performance classes). My instructor and the other women in my class know about my massive weight loss and restricted diet (kind of had to tell them after I took a header after a dizzy spell the first night). This is an intro class that is technically pretty below my level but my body has to catch up with my head again. I have ALWAYS wanted to dance en pointe (the pretty tippy toe ballerina shoes) but never had the opportunity. Today my instructor brought me in a pair of demi pointe shoes and let me try to get en pointe. I DID IT! Granted, only for about 2.3 seconds, but I did it - then I cried, seriously. All my life I have wanted to do that. Now it's going to be at least a year and probably more like 2 or 3 years of lessons before I can really start trying to dance en pointe, but even to just get there once was so amazing. May have to start saving up for a pair of good pointe shoes, even if I can't use them for a while.
That is a killer NSV indeed!
My very similar but in a different discipline NSV happened almost two weeks ago when I got on a horse for the first time in close to 20 years and I was AWESOME! And I didn't crush the horse! I'm going to be riding regularly now and will be leasing and then probably adopting a horse of my own. Man I love it!
