1 Year Surgiversary
Hi everyone!
On Dec. 28, 2012, I celebrated my 1 year surgiversary! It has been a wonderful year and I thought I'd catch up.
My highest weight (that I'm aware of) was 273. After being diagnosed as pre-diabetic, almost 2 years ago, I went home that day and put myself on a diet. I was able to drop almost 50lbs in a matter of a few months, but sadly, I couldn't keep it off. I had already started the journey for my sleeve, but hadn't been approved yet. Day of surgery, I had creeped back up to 245lbs.
Fast forward 1 year later and I am now at my goal weight of 135# and couldn't be happier! I've gone from a size 3x or 24 to a 4! Yes, a 4! I never in my wildest dreams believed I could be that small, but I am!
The best part is that I feel AMAZING and have so much energy. My bloodwork all came back fabulous and my surgeon is extremely thrilled, as I am!
If you are just starting this journey, please know that all of the hard work is definitely worth it. The first few months are difficult, but hang in there! The sleeve was the best choice I ever made for myself.
