When did you start pureed foods post op?

My doctor is letting me start this week, and I'm only 3 weeks post op. Is that too early for blended foods? I know every doctor is different, but I'm curious to see what everyone else's doctor has said.

My surgery was 1/22 and I started purée today.

If your doc says okay, then it's okay. I was on purees after two weeks of full liquids. Of course, I was on clear liquids prior to the full liquids - so I was about 2 1/2 or 3 weeks out when I went on purees.

Sounds about right to me.  Remember, most of your nutrition is still going to come in through the protein shakes.  You are like a baby, relearning to eat all over again.  Take tiny, pencil eraser sized bites, chew at least 30 times and don't eat more than a few tablespoons at a time while you work up (slowly) to 1/4 of a cup.  If anything feels uncomfortable, slow down, back away and try again in a few days.  Easy does it.
