Is it normal?
I just started pureed foods on Tuesday, and every time I eat I feel a feeling that feels like gas and heartburn while eating. Has anyone else experienced this, or do I need to contact my surgeon. I'm 3 and a half weeks out. Also, how much could everyone eat at this point? I can barely get 5 small bites of egg in right now.
I haven't been there myself yet, but the pre-op nutrition class I just took recommends scrambling and then pureeing eggs during this stage. I guess merely scrambled doesn't cut it, so to speak. Apologies if I misunderstood and you are pureeing your eggs, in which case maybe they just don't agree with you yet.
I'd contact your surgeon regardless. If nothing else maybe they can hook you up with an Rx for acid or something. Good luck.
I have a basement but don't dwell in it full time.
Agree with others about the eggs... try them again at a later date. The five bites thing though seems about right. Try a different food to see if it relieves your discomfort. And you should never hesitate to call the surgeon- you paid a gajillion dollars and that is what they are there for. I am pretty confident that there is not a surgeon out there that would want their patient to potentially risk something very serious instead of make a phone call. I do think you are probably ok though- it is an adjustment eating newly sleeved. How cool is it that you are "done" eating after a few bites! I kind of miss those days!
