Not sure what's happening!

I am 3 weeks and 3 days out from surgery, and I have been feeling dizzy and lightheaded lately. Started a few days ago, but only when I stood up fast, or maybe coming up the stairs. But then yesterday I was dizzy all day! I haven't been able to get all the liquid in that I need, maybe 40oz when it should be 64+ as you all know. So I went to urgent care last night to get an IV, but they denied me and sent me to hospital. So I went to ER at Swedish where I had surgery. They took blood and checked my electrolytes, and I am not dehydrated! I did get a bag of fluids though. They couldn't find anything wrong. Gave me an anti-dizzy pill which I thought helped, but as soon as I got to parking lot I was dizzy again. ER doc was supposed to give me a 'script for that anti-dizzy med, but didn't! So I called on call surgeon and he said to get right back to hospital and I will prob be admitted. 😞 So, not sure what's wrong! I have been on 25mg of metoprolol for high BP, but don't see my GP about that till Tuesday. ER doc said to stop that med. Thanks for reading. I can use all the thoughts/prayers/good vibes you guys have! Thank goodness the hospital has wifi and I can easily access OH on my phone!

If we all liked the same things, what fun would life be?

Sorry to hear of the issue you are enduring. I would suggest drinking G2 Gatorade if you are not already drinking it. Will help getting your electrolytes up.Sending you positive energy that your dizziness goes away.

Almost sounds like orthostatic hypotension!

If it feels good, do it!  And if it smells good, eat it!

They gave me testing for that a couple times, but no go!! So strange, today I am fine.

What was your BP at the hospital?  About 3 weeks out I too suffered from dizziness.  At my doc visit my BP was really low - I took diuretics for leg swelling that also affected BP, so had to give them up for a couple of weeks!

The lowest was 94/59, but they never saw it at that level, unless the machine records it and they saw it later.

I'm not saying this is definitely what's going on, but it could be - my doc discussed this with me this week: http://www.obesityhelp.com/forums/VSG/4667443/Things-I-learned-today-from-my-surgeon/

Thank you for this info! I have been stretching my feet and legs before getting up and think it is helping!

Thanks for all the replies so far! My BP seemed low to me. The nurse kept saying it was fine though... That I was laying down and that why it's lower... At one point it was 94/59, but nurse wasn't in there. Normal for me, even with BP meds was like 130/90+ I'm being driven to hospital right now, so we'll see.
