Inspirational post: What can you do?
Hello fellow OH'ers!
Collectively, we are all here for most of the same reasons, to become more active, lead healthier lives and for those of us with children, to lead by example in hopes that they don't pick up unhealthy habits.
I can't wait to join my fellow sleevers and other wls family and friends on the losers bench. Most of my life I have always focused on the things that I CANT do. Although, I am only 22 I have been overweight my entire life even as a child. I have diabetes and high blood pressure and I'm just sick and tired of being sick and tired.
I know having the VSG isn't a magic pill or set it and forget it, it will take hard work and dedication to a new lifestyle to succeed....
And with that in mind this post will focus on the things that I CAN AND WILL BE ABLE TO DO, once I'm sleeved. I would like everyone who posts, to list the physical things they have been able to accomplish or anything they are proud of, doesn't matter how little, after they lost weight with their new tools.
I will start the list of things I hope to accomplish once my day comes...
- Be able to touch my toes...without spreading my feet apart.
- Participate in a marathon, biking or running and be able to complete it.
- Keep up with my nieces and nephews and not get winded.
- Go rock climbing.
- Climb the stairs when an elevator is out of order...without getting winded.
- Ride in an airplane without having to buy an extra seat.
- Not worrying if something will break when I sit or stand on it.
- Tie my shoes or pick something up of the floor without getting dizzy...although the dizziness could be something else.
- Start a garden.
- Learn to roller skate, ski, surf, etc.
THANKS TO EVERYONE *****PLIES TO THIS POST...ALL WLS TYPES ARE WELCOME TO POST!!

What's it like on a skateboard? I feel like I would probably break my neck :)
It's pretty easy (without the obeseness).......
In that pic I'm on a semi "long board"...... long boards are more about cruising, not as sketchy and twitchy as shorter boards with smaller harder tires that is normally associated with skaters that do tricks, flips and jumps..... more like street snowboarding.
I was in and out of skateboard shops buying wheels and bearing for Video camera sliding platforms.
Than it dawned on me..... I'll bet I could ride one of those now (fat brain never considered riding a skateboard).... asked the "kid" if I could try one...... next thing I know I'm picking out my own board !
I'm still scared of roller skates and roller blades......

After a little practice...You would have zero problems on a skate board.....
I see lots of people getting great exercise on roller skates..... looks like a great, fun non-gym work out !!!!
