Good and Bad news (pre-op)
Great job on the 14lb loss! I had my VSG on 6/26/14 and I think it is very important pre-op to find a protein shake that you like because your shakes are going to be your main source of nutrition. May I suggest trying to mix the shake with other things for now. I chose to use Isopure Dutch Chocolate and mixed it with skim milk and creamy PB with ice in the blender. I hope this helps. Good Luck!
Have you tried other shakes? There are lots of options out there! I really like double rich chocolate or peanut butter cookie. Nashua Nutrition allows you to buy samples of lots of different types for a small price which is much better than investing in a big tub.

There are soooooo many different options out there for shakes. Get a variety pack and try a bunch until you find one you like. Keep in mind tastebuds change after surgery so don't hoard too much of a stock. I most frequently drink Premier Protein chocolate or strawberry- easy and cheap is the main reason and they have a good nutritional profile. I recently started drinking Chike protein coffee- can't even taste the protein in it and it makes a very good iced coffee (and saving me a lot of money at Starbucks!). When I was freshly sleeved I did Isopure plus- drinks like kool aid. My sleeve couldn't handle the shakes early out in the sense that I would get too full toofast so Isopure worked well. HMR 70 makes a really nice shake when blended with ice- I use that for dessert or when craving ice cream- but that stuff is pricey, has more carbs and less protein for the cals. In all, just keep trying. There are a ton of recipes of things you can add to make them better too.

Try the Premier Protein RTD. I like both the vanilla and chocolate. Just make sure that the protein drinks are along the guidelines of what your surgeon wants you to have. Good luck on your surgery!
