I find myself gulping my drinks with no problem at all.. I can drink a glass of water straight down.. Is this ok? I sometimes forget and drink drink drink and hope I am not hurting my sleeve, but I have no discomfort. I am about 7 months out..

This may not help, because I am only 11 days post op, but I feel that I can still drink normal. I don't chug a bottle of water or anything, but I don't have any pain or restriction when drinking. I think that because liquids kind of go right through us, it isn't as much of an issue as eating too fast. I wouldn't think it would be too much of an issue, unless you are swallowing a lot of air when drinking.

I can't do it yet, because I am almost 10 weeks out. I fully expect to be able to do it at 7 months out because liquid won't close the pyloric valve. I wouldn't  expect to be able to drink down more than 8 ozs, but 8 oz should be no problem.

Hey Amy! I can drink quite a bit, like 5-6 big sips - but then it will start to hurt a bit.

I have been able to drink in full swallows from about 4 weeks out.  I can easily drink 8 ounces at a time.  I rarely feel restriction eating either.  I have to eat 3 or 4 ounces of very dry protein like baked chicken to ever feel full.

I have no idea why.  I feel as if I am always on a diet and could easily eat whatever I want.  I hate it am I'm very jealous of those lucky enough to only be able to eat a few tablespoons of food.

I can, but then it gets kind of uncomfortable. Not sure if it is from gulping air too, or if I fill up faster.

It took some time,  but I can guzzle water like I did prior to surgery.   There's no harm in it since liquids will empty out of your stomach quickly,  unlike dense protein.

I didn't really have an issue with getting in fluids post op at all. I'm 11 months out and can drink like a champ!
