hello all! I am 6 weeks out today, and feeling pretty good, and feeling like myself again. I have lost 24 pounds in 6 weeks, I feel like this is slow, is it compared to some of you? But it is still 24 pounds closer to my goal. I am 5'5 and started at 268 now I am 244. Last year at this time I weighed 292. Anyways, was just wondering how fast some of you lost and if I am losing at a normal rate or if I'm behind what I should be? Thanks all!

Four pounds a week? That's fantastic! And the fact that you're "feeling pretty good" makes it even better. I lost a ton of weight the first six weeks. I also was very sick and had to be hospitalized twice. Your way is much better. Keep going. You're on a roll!

Don't worry about the rate, just stick to your plan.  You are doing great!

We all gained our weight at different rates and we'll all lose it differently as well. Keep focused on yourself and your own goals and try not to compare yourself to others. And just think where you'd be WITHOUT the weight you've lost so far. For me, as long as the scale is going down rather than up I am one happy gal!! Congratulations on your success so far and best of luck as you continue your journey!

Everyone is different - you can see my stats in my signature line below. Try and remember the last time you lost 24 lbs. in 6 weeks

Lots of people will say that "this is a marathon, not a sprint" so don't focus on how much you're losing each week. I'll tell you that this isn't a race at all - short-term or long-term. This is the new way you will live every day of the rest of your life so get used to it and focus on other things besides the number on the scale. In the end the number on the scale is the least useful tool for measuring your success with WLS.

Focusing on that number is the road to insanity!

Hello,

I am 6 weeks out today as well and I have lost 24lbs as well. I am happy about it because there is no way we could have lost that amount of weight that quickly. If i counted the pre op diet the total is 34. I did not start really exercising yet but I plan to do so soon. I have bad knees and I am ungoing physical therapy. Let's continue the fight, we have gotten this far and we will be sucessufu!!

Thank you Ethel, I do feel pretty good about it. I guess I had an ongoing idea that it would be faster, but I am pretty happy with it. What are you eating at this point?
