Hello Everyone!!

Today marks my one month post-op mark! I usually get on the scale Monday mornings, but because it's my one month mark I stepped on the scale. I am happy to say the scale didn't move since Monday.. LOL.. My surgery weight was 360 lbs and my one month mark is sitting at 338.4 lbs. That puts me at a total of 21.6 lbs for month one! Seems I gained a few pounds since my 2 week doctors visit, but I also added new foods into my diet ect ect.. I am happy with the 21.6 lbs! It's still amazing no matter what the number! This puts me at a total of 75lbs lost since I started this journey back in April.

My clothes are fitting so much nicer, and things I haven't worn in years I can now wear again. I have a bag full of items I am taking to goodwill because they simply fall off!

So to those that are just starting this journey, please don't get upset or discouraged when the scale doesn't move or it goes up.. because your clothes will always tell you the truth!! Losing inches is just as satisfying as losing pounds, and sometimes even better.

Things I have noticed since I started this journey!!

  • My double chin is mostly gone!
  • My ankles no long swell up!
  • My knees no longer hurt!
  • My back no longer hurts!
  • I can walk my dog around the block and not just down the road and not run out of breath(I live in the country so my block is like a 30-40 minute walk)
  • My clothes feel good on me!
  • I went down a whole shoe size and I didn't even need to buy wide width shoes!!
  • My only sad thing I noticed... I hate coffee again.. hahaha.. I hated coffee as a child, but when I got older I lived on coffee.. and now I crave it.. but I had some the other day and it was gross.. my taste buds have decided that coffee is no longer a fan fave.. LOL.. sad.. but also good since my doctor really doesn't want me to drink it anymore.. goodbye coffee.. I will miss you!!!

Good luck to everyone on their journey.. I look forward to sharing with you all again and seeing your accomplishments along the way as well!!

Happy Friday!!!

Karen

My first month weight loss was 21 pounds, too, and I lost 225 pounds in about 18 months (3 months pre-op and reached goal at 15months.)  So you are on a great trajectory!

Your NSV's are wonderful as well.  What a remarkable change in just a month.  Great job working that sleeve!

Great job!

It is SO true the number on the scale does not represent the whole picture of what this journey represents. I had my surgery 23 days ago and have experienced so many NSV's it amazes me. And I FEEL good again!

I think eating more healthy, being able and WANTING to move, and feeling hope again is what this is more about than the number on the scale.

Best of luck!

Kathy
