I cannot believe it has been a year since I checked in!  It has been wonderful!  To date I have lost 163lbs  - only 7lbs until goal  - wearing size 8-10 - and I feel FABULOUS!  This has been a wonderful journey.  Still exercising 5 days week and following the band rules.  It's amazing what happens if you follow the rules!

Well, it has been a while, but everything is still going well.
To date I have lost 123lbs and down to a size 16 pants and 16/18 in shirts!  Yes,  I am officially under 200lbs!!  I started working with a personal trainer on 2/9 and lost 10lbs and 12 inches!!!  Got a fill on 2/19 of .40ccs, got something stuck on 2/23, got unfilled .80ccs on 2/26.  What a learning experience!  Dr. says I am swollen so he had to unfill more than he filled on 2/19.  I am doing alot better now, I just need to be careful not to overeat since I am alot less restricted than before.  I can do it!  Only 25lbs away from my Drs goal and 45lbs from my goal!

OCT 2006

Been a couple months, so here goes... September was a very busy month I can't even remember most of what went on. That's always a crazy month for me with the kids going back to school and starting up all their activities. Great news-I didn't neglect myself during this time and stayed very focused on my weight loss goals. I had a personal trainer set up my workout schedule for and it really made a difference. I am actually working hard during my workouts. My 6 month bandiversary was 10/12. So far I have lost 86lbs!!! I am down to size 20 pants and 18/20 shirts. I haven't seen these sizes since high school. Most importantly, my BMI has gone from 54.5 to 39.9. I am no longer super obese. I still love my band. It is keepin' me in check and I am working with it.

So I am down from size 28 pants, to 24, from size 26 shirts to size 22.  I finally bought new clothes!  My husband compliments me on my new smaller body all the time.  What a wonderful feeling.  Even my 13 and 15 year old daughters are excited for me.  They're starting to tell me what to wear and to get rid of my boring, baggy clothes.  I did get a fill this month because I was able to eat more that I needed.  After this fill the restriction felt perfect.  I still don't know if I have reached my sweet spot, but it is starting to feel like it.  I reached my first goal, down 50lbs!  I don't think I'll get another fill for a couple months.  My next goal is to be down to 199lbs which will make me a Century Club Member. I know I can do it, just need to step up my workouts.  Even though I go to the gym 3x a week, I'm still not working out hard enough, just going through the motions.
8/14/06 - 3rd fill .40ccs, weight loss -54lbs total

JUL 2006

I decided not to get a fill this month because I still really feel the restriction  from my fill in June.  Went to California for week and lost 4lbs that week.  I'm sure it was due to all that walking at Disneyland & Universal in 100 degree weather!!!  still love my band!!!

JUN 2006

I still feel feel and great and still losing.  People are starting to notice.  The attention's grat, but sometimes uncomfortable.  I went on a family a cruise and still lost 4lbs that week.  I love my band!! It kept me in check the whole trip.  Had my first PB during the trip however.  Yeah, tried pizza at midnight.  BIG MISTAKE!
6/19/06 - 2nd fill .60ccs, weight loss -42lbs

MAY 2006

Still feeling great.  The diet hasn't really been difficult at all.  Probably because I'm constantly losing and staying motivated.  I chose a local doctor to get fills from. He didn't have any problems finding the port.  All went well.
5/22/06 - 1st fill 2.00ccs, weight loss -28lbs

APR 2006

I started my pre-surgery diet of protein and veggies only for one week.  The next week  I will start adding broths, jello etc so I can get ready for the first couple weeks after surgery.
4/11/06 - I arrived in Mexico just fine.  Took all my tests and everything checked out ok. I met 4 other ladies here for surgery on the same day.  only 2 have support people with them the rest of us got to know each other very well.  We were so happy hen the nurse told us we could have whatever we wanted for our last meals (lunch & dinner).  We bonded quite well over our last supper!  After all we were there for surgery because of our love for food!!!
4/12/06 - Surgery went well. I started walking a couple hours after because I had terrible gas pains in my shoulder and I had been told that walking helps.  Luckily, I hardly ad any pain from my surgery so walking wasn't hard at all.
4/27/06 - The gas pain in my shoulder lasted about 2 weeks.  It was so uncomfortable, but luckily it was the only discomfort I experienced.  I did also lose 16lbs in that 2 weeks!! This is sooo worth it.  I haven't lost any weight in about 2 years before this.

MAR 2006

Great news!  I have all the $$ saved up and all I need to do is go!  I have also met someone that will be going in to surgery with Dr. Aceves on the same day as me.  Her husband will not be able to go because he also needs to stay home with their children.  Perfect!  I have someone to go through this with that will also be without any support.  We will count down the days together.  I also met a lady that just had surgery that is very happy with how everything went on her trip and stay in Mexico.  Our talk was very comforting.  I know that I mad the right decision.
