Day of Surgery - 12/21/09

So, I wasn't really nervous about the surgery, just excited. I hate waiting though. My surgery time of 1pm got bumped to closer to 2pm, so that was unfortunate. I woke up with two tubes sticking out of me, that kind of freaked me out. I guess my staples weren't perfect, so my doc put a few extra stitches in for good measure, and left two tubes in 'just in case'. I'm glad he did, because I take blood thinners all the time, and another surgery wouldn't have been ideal for me.Luckily I haven't had any problems, but it seems to be taking me longer to recuperate than most. Drinking fluids is not a problem, but my stomach still hurts (rather badly) under the tubes. I tried sleeping in my bed last night, not a good idea. My husband is a firefighter, and didn't get home until almost 8:30am. I had to use the bathroom, but couldn't get out of bed. My daughter is too small to help - so it was a combination of depressing and funny at the same time.
It is now 12/28/09, I see my doc tomorrow, and hopefully one or both tubes will be removed. I'm not really looking forward to that, because I know it is going to feel really strange - and I pray it's not painful.
