I began this journey at 450lb back in the '90's when the gastric bypass was new and I was told by my surgeon that "I would never have to diet again."

One of many untruths I have discovered about the whole process and myself. "I" still have to do the work. "I" have to eat healthily and yes "I" have to exercise.

I hate exercise. Maybe it's the word. I love walking. So I walk. At least now I do. I've found a motivator to get me out there every day for at least 30mins or more. Pokemon Go. It's a simple and cute game. And I enjoy every minute of it.

I had a gastric bypass, a revision a year later to the bypass and finally a DS in 2008. That was 10 years ago. The first revision was the doctor's idea. The DS was mine. I still have some restriction, which is great. But I know that my pouch has stretched and will find out this week how much.

I am looking into what we used to refer to as the 'crap band.' With all my medications that are necessary to my ability to function, it is the best choice. Exercise and salads won't make a difference if the meds you take STILL put weight on you. I don't know how it works but it's a cruel joke.

I have no thyroids so my metabolism is sluggish. I have two knee replacements but I walk through the pain. I have chronic pain due to Sjögren's Syndrome. I have a growth on my pituitary gland, but I'm hopefully getting off that med soon. "YEAH"

I'm hoping to find support, knowledge and recipe ideas. Honestly, when you can't have grains, white flour or milk. Things get pretty limited. I do make a killer 'crustless quiche' though. :)
