I SAID A PRAYER FOR YOU TODAY~*~ I said a prayer for you today And know God must have heard- I felt the answer in my heart Although He spoke no word I didn't ask for wealth or fame, I knew you wouldn't mind, I asked Him to send treasures Of a far more lasting kind, I asked that He'd be near you At the start of each new day, To grant you health and blessings And friends to share your way. I asked for happiness for you In all things great and small, But it was for His loving care I prayed the most of all. (unknown author)FROM MY HEART TO YOU ~*~Hugs~*~

August 7, 2003: I can't believe that this is going so well physically. Mentally, it is definately tough! I have a very social family and group of friends and being placed in situation where there is a lot of food and drink is tough. But I have tried to face it head on. I have watch friends and family eat fries, appetizers, large meals, and desserts. How tough is that? Even though my mind (that evil thing and the reason I got to this point in the first place) said I wanted the food...I DIDN'T TOUCH anything I wasn't suppose too! I ate my 2 oz of food and was so proud of myself! This is definately an up hill battle...but bring it on! I am excited about my 20lbs in 9 days and want a lot more. I am keeping down food and things are going well! Dr. Abkin is amazing!!!! What a great surgeon and compassionate man!! I had a infection scare 5 days into it...had him paged...and called me right back! So kind and come to find out...just an allergic reaction to the staples they closed me up with! Excited about the future and full of hope! No second thoughts! Thanks for all your prayers and support! So glad to have this group to talk to! Update soon!

So close to a new you and so many emotions! I haven't had mine yet but am hoping for this summer. My thoughts are with you before, during, and after. Keep up with the posts. They do help. With each reply you get there are 10 others you have helped or touched in some form or way. Listen to your peers and mostly your Dr. and support group. they know what you need. I'll be watching for those updated posts!

I just wanted to say GOOD LUCK on your surgery. Take a deep breath, try to relax. Know that we all care about you and are wishing you the best. Think positive, it really does help. After surgery, remember to turn, cough, take deep breaths, and walk to prevent complications. Hold your incision when you cough, it helps it hurt less. Keep your profile updated, it may make a difference in the live of someone else. Smile, keep your chin up! And lastly, if your chin does fall, just remember, from this position it is easier to moon people! :) (Also, humor helps too!)
