I read your comments this morning and well up with tears. I could feel your loving spirit just reading them. I'm sorry that your insurance denied you but am glad that you were able to borrow the money to pay for the surgery. Keep on fighting with the insurance company to have them pay. Maybe it will work out! I was fortunate in that my employer amended our contract to include the treatment of gastric bypass surgery after I had been denied twice. I consider this a true miracle! Welcome to your new life! I'm right behind you! My surgery is July 11th!! I am so excited!

Hi everyone, I had LAP RYN in Canton on Friday, June 23. Thanks to the Lord and many prayers on my behalf for helping me to reach the other side. I especially appreciate the many prayers, thoughts, and encouragement from everyone at AMOS. My angel Pam Wilemon was good to check on me and she called on FRI and SAT and sent me a beautiful flower arrangement. Thanks to Kim Franklin for the beautiful card from everyone at AMOS. I am still pretty sore. I had a long trip home from Atlanta(5 hour drive on Sunday) but we made it through. I had a surprise at the hospital when they had to place an IV in my neck while I was awake. It did not hurt but I had not expected this but they were not able to get the IV going in my hands. I also gave my family and nurses a good scare when 1 my incisions( I have 7 small ones) burst open and began to bleed/leak. This was also fine and came from the fluid they had to insert to place the camera inside my body. They applied a pressure bandage and all seems to be fine since. The hospital, doctors, and staff were caring and supportive. I have had a lot of encouragement and support from my family and friends and I am very thankful to them all. Please continue to remember me and thanks for everything. I will post again when I am feeling a little bit better. We live in a very rural area so I am glad that my sister has located a support group at FT. Stewart for me to be involved in. I know I will find this helpful.

Vickie - Hey, wishing you nothing but the best on your surgery and aftercare. You ever get premonitions? While I was writing this, I did and I know everything is going to go great for you! May you have a healthy and happy future! All the best,

Vickie, thank you so much for your really sweet note to me. It means a lot and shows what a caring person you are, especially with your surgery so close - you have plenty to keep you busy nowadays, so thanks for thinking of me. I wish you the best of luck in your appeal to your insurance company and will be thinking of you on your special day. You'll be joining the "losers" club very, very soon! - Beth
